Imagine yourself sitting at a picknick bench outside. What plants are around you? What plants are in your food or drink? Even in the air? Ever wondered how all these plants have evolved? The purpose of Plant.ID is to provide society with fast and accurate ways of identifying plants using molecular DNA-based methods. We are also training the next generation of plant scientists that will develop these cutting-edge techniques for plant identification.
ESR projects
Our network has 15 early stage researchers that are each performing a vital part of the Plant.ID project. They are employed at 9 different host institutes scattered across Europe. All ESR projects are unique and contribute towards achieving the overall goal of Plant.ID.
